Sorry for the delay, I began the second editing of my book, it’s taking most of my time, but here I am with last week’s story involving sea creatures and underwater kisses between two men (I’m precising for the first and last time because it’s mentioned in the ‘About’ section that it’s what I like to write).

The sun was warming his front, basking him in warmth… Few were the times he could enjoy this, being the King’s son, but nothing would take him away from his tanning time.

Water shifted around him, a splash and Zinoch’s head was poking through the surface beside him.

“My Lord,” he greeted Lessam through  his mask, who groaned.

“What is it, Zinoch?”

“Your mother is looking for you.”

“Ah. Yes, I forgot I had an appointment…” He sighed. “Tell me, does Mother know you came here to fetch me?”

“No, my Lord. I know you like it here, but I don’t think nobody else know.”

“Then stay with me at least for a little while before we have to get back. And please, remove these things too.”

Zinoch was an Air Creature, who was adopted a decade ago by his clan. His body wasn’t fit to live underwater, so their technician had come up with devices for him to be able to breath and swim at his ease.

Honestly, Lessam found him fascinating. He was so different of him, so exotic that he took every opportunity to observe him, and was delighted each time his cheeks would flush from the attention.

Zinoch hesitated, but complied. After all, he was his servant and was to do what Lassam ordered him to.

Soft-looking lips appeared from behind his mask, full and pink compared to his own, thin blue ones. He asked himself if humans kissed on the mouth like his clan did, and how they could with their nose in the way.

He smirked when Zinoch pushed his body at the water’s surface and let himself float like a starfish. A small fish nuzzled Lessam’s hand, starting him a little, and he idly played with it.

“Tell me again of your human lands.” It was something he would often ask him, but Zinoch never refused him anything. He described once more the sceneries he could remember from his homeland; the vibrant colors of the leaves during the colder season, the whiteness that covered the land during Winter, the songs of the birds. Lessam could almost hear their chant.

He grinned, twisting on his side to look at Zinoch’s expressive face as he recalled the few memories he kept of his childhood. The small fish jumped above his hip and disappeared into the water’s depths, his golden scales reflecting the sun one last time.

“It sounds beautiful.”

“It is… But Herakleion is as beautiful.”

“Do you regret sometimes…”

“Regret what?” Zinoch asked, turning his head to look at Lessam whose face was half emerged in the water, to allow his skin to stay moist.

“Leaving your homeland.”

Zinoch’s reply was immediate. “No I don’t. I wasn’t happy before, I… I always wished for something more. But ever since I’m at Herakleion, ever since I’m with… you, I’m happy.” There it was again, the softly pink cheeks.

That brought a shift in Lessam’s demeanour. He closed the distance between them to stroke Zinoch’s wet hair, dark strands in the water. “So do I.” His two sets of eyelids closed for a second. “I like you very much.”

His heart was beating furiously in his ribcage, which never happened before. His hand descended on Zinoch’s face, grasped the back of his neck to bring him closer, and Lessam awkwardly kissed his lips, slick with the oil his skin had to be covered with to be protected. He frowned when it didn’t really work, not understanding how to adjust himself with Zinoch’s nose. The latter laughed, a sparkle in his eyes.

“Here.” He gently tugged Lessam against him, all firm muscles against his slim frame, and turned his head for his nose to bump against his cheek rather than his own flat one. Lessam hummed low in his throat, the difference in their physical appearance turning him on ever since they met.

They kissed for a while and without their knowing, they slowly emerged under the water until Zinoch had to breathe again.

With a chuckle, Lessam helped him back to the surface.
