Where does the money go?

Edward struggles to keep some, he has to give it away almost as soon as he manages to slip some in his pockets, the green barely tainting the tip of his fingers. Edward is happy with his life nonetheless, he’s used to drag the burden that comes with having barely any income, and so he’s frugal, rarely spending more than his tight budget allows him, but when he does, he’s all the more happier about his purchase. He gets to live, and that’s all that matters for him.

Evelyn’s eyes are green with greed. She bathes in the money she takes from Edward, puts it in jars just to stare at it. She could buy anything she wants. She doesn’t even need to dream about it, she buys it with a flick of her credit card. Her apartment is filled with expensive objects and clothes. She’s still not satisfied though, she yearns for other things, more, for the need transforms into something else when she realizes there’s not enough money in the world to satisfy that hole in her chest.
